Wasteland 3 is a post-apocalyptic turn-based role-playing game developed by inXile Entertainment and published by Deep Silver. The story takes place in the frozen state of Colorado, decades after nuclear war has devastated civilization. In a desperate attempt to save their people, the Rangers accept an offer from the self-proclaimed Patriarch of Colorado, who promises vital supplies in exchange for restoring order across his fractured territory.

However, as players travel through snow-covered cities, abandoned military bases, and lawless settlements, they quickly discover that the Patriarch’s kingdom is built on fragile alliances, corruption, and dangerous secrets. Every mission forces players to make difficult moral decisions that influence the fate of entire communities and determine the future of the Rangers.

Wasteland 3 is played from an isometric perspective and combines open-world exploration with deep turn-based tactical combat. Players create and customize a squad of Desert Rangers, each possessing unique attributes, combat skills, and dialogue abilities that influence both battles and story outcomes.Combat revolves around an Action Point system that allows characters to move, attack, reload, heal teammates, or use special abilities during their turn. Careful positioning, effective use of cover, and coordinated squad tactics are essential for surviving encounters against heavily armed enemies and mutated creatures.

Players have access to an extensive arsenal of weapons, including assault rifles, sniper rifles, pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, heavy machine guns, explosives, and futuristic energy weapons. Each weapon type offers distinct advantages, encouraging players to build specialized team roles.
